Synopsis
Ash reunites with Sinnoh’s Champion Cynthia, the group cares for an injured Meloetta, and Iris battles Cynthia’s Garchomp. With the Unova League three months away, the group runs into Cynthia at an ice cream stand in Virbank City; she is heading to her villa in Undella Town and then to the Pokémon World Tournament Junior Cup in Lacunosa Town, whose winner will battle Alder, so they decide to enter.
Team Rocket, using Dr. Zager’s goggles to see through Meloetta’s invisibility, hit it with an electrified net, and the wounded Pokémon tumbles onto the road in front of Cynthia’s truck. Cynthia treats it with a Super Potion, Ash fetches ice with her Glaceon’s help, and Iris’s Emolga brings an Oran Berry. The recovered Meloetta calms a squabbling Oshawott and Emolga with its soothing song and vanishes.
Iris asks Cynthia for a battle, and Garchomp’s Dragon Rush and Draco Meteor overwhelm Axew until, in a rage, it learns Giga Impact. Cynthia stops Garchomp’s Brick Break before it can finish Axew and ends the battle, praising Iris. The group boards Cynthia’s seaplane with Meloetta secretly aboard and Team Rocket in pursuit, and at the villa Dawn and Piplup are waiting.
