Synopsis
Ash and Cameron get lost on the way to Humilau City, then watch Cameron win his eighth Badge from Gym Leader Marlon. Wandering off the path, the two boys save each other from falling off cliffs, shelter from a storm in a cave where Meloetta brings them apples, and share their dreams of becoming a Pokémon Master and a Champion. When Ash cannot pull Cameron up from a ledge, Riolu and Pikachu haul both boys to safety.
In Humilau City, Marlon surfaces on a Wailord, gives them a ride to the Gym and reunites them with Iris and Cilan. On a water arena of floating platforms, Cameron’s Ferrothorn knocks out Jellicent with Thunderbolt, but Jellicent’s Cursed Body disables the move, and Marlon’s Mantine wins with Wing Attack, Bullet Seed and Psybeam.
Cameron’s Samurott takes the fight underwater, dodges Bullet Seed and hits Mantine from behind with Hydro Cannon, followed by Aqua Jet. It blocks another Bullet Seed with Razor Shell and finishes Mantine with a double Razor Shell. Marlon awards Cameron the Wave Badge, which qualifies him for the Unova League, and the group parts with him and heads back to Undella Town.
