Synopsis
James is forced to confront his past when Ash’s group dig up a treasure chest he buried as a child, leading to his family mansion, his old Growlithe and his unwanted fiancée Jessebelle. Monferno uncovers the locked chest during training, and Team Rocket, disguised as treasure hunters, fail to open it because James has forgotten the password.
The butler Sebastian recognises James’s drawing on the chest and invites the group into the mansion, where James’s beloved Growlie knocks off his disguise. James admits that the chest holds a love letter he once wrote to Jessebelle, before her demands to replace Growlie with a Skitty drove him to run away from home.
Jessebelle arrives with an army of guards, and the chest turns into a laser-firing robot until Growlie defeats it with Flamethrower and Dig. Jessebelle’s Vileplume breaks through with Solar Beam, and James asks Pikachu to blast them off; Jessebelle flies away with James and Meowth, while Jessie is mistaken for her by the guards.
