Synopsis

Iris defends a Dragonite blamed for wrecking Undella Town’s power plant, proves its innocence and catches it. Injured while shielding a flock of Pidove from a wild Hydreigon, the Dragonite crashes into the plant, causing a blackout, and seals itself inside a room with Thunder Punch and Ice Beam. Officer Jenny hopes Cynthia will help capture it, but Cynthia is away.

Doubting that it attacked without reason, Iris crawls through the air ducts with Ash and Dawn. The wounded Dragonite fires Flamethrower until Meloetta’s song calms it, but falling debris separates Ash and Dawn from Iris. Touching the Dragonite, Iris sees its memories of the battle and asks Ash to find proof.

Jenny brings four Trainers to subdue Dragonite by force, and their Pokémon break down the barrier, but Iris stands in front of it and refuses to let them pass. Ash, Dawn and Cilan arrive with surveillance footage of Dragonite protecting the Pidove, and Jenny forgives it. After Nurse Joy treats its injuries, Dragonite asks to travel with Iris, and she catches it. Meanwhile, Team Rocket confirm their find as the Abyssal Ruins and prepare to report to Giovanni.
