Synopsis
Sheltering from a storm in an old mansion, the group discover that its ghostly happenings are caused by a lonely Espurr waiting for its late owner. The door locks behind them and the lights switch on by themselves; Serena talks of curses while Clemont insists on science, and Team Rocket, also trapped inside, are terrified by the portrait of an old woman wearing a green pendant.
Bonnie follows a pair of glowing eyes and finds Espurr, which plays catch with her and saves her with Psychic when Dedenne makes her fall. Espurr leads everyone to the portrait and shows them a matching pendant; with Meowth translating, it explains that the woman, Lacy, fed and played with it and gave it the pendant, but when it came back the house was empty.
Team Rocket try to capture Espurr with Pumpkaboo’s Leech Seed and Inkay’s Psybeam, but Espurr’s Protect and Psychic hurl them out a window. In the morning a woman named Elise arrives and explains that Lacy has died. Espurr gives Elise the pendant, she decides to turn the mansion into a hotel and offers to take Espurr to Lacy’s grave, and the group continue towards Cyllage City.
