Synopsis

In Camphrier Town a snoring Snorlax will not leave the street, and Ash wins back the Poké Flute needed to wake it from the spoiled Princess Allie of Parfum Palace. Each year the Snorlax comes down to eat the roots of harvested crops, tilling the fields, until Lord Shabboneau plays the Poké Flute at a festival, but this year he has not come, and Clemont’s alarm-clock invention explodes.

At Shabboneau Castle the lord admits that Princess Allie took his flute. At Parfum Palace Allie refuses to return it, demands Pikachu as a family heirloom, then pits her Furfrou against Pikachu for both: Quick Attack, Bite and Charge Beam are traded until Electro Ball and Thunderbolt ruin Furfrou’s trim and she forfeits. Insisting her terms never named a winner, she will return the flute only if she can keep Clemont.

Back in town Team Rocket snatch the flute, and Jessie’s screeching wakes Snorlax in a rage, so it blasts them away. Ash catches the flute and gives it to the lord, whose playing calms Snorlax; it eats the offerings and heads back to the mountains. Clemont escapes in his underclothes, having left a robot double behind, and everyone watches the fireworks.
